A great four and five seed match-up in Caney opened the District 1, Class 3A Sub-State with the number five, Riverton Rams. Riverton (8-11) outscored Caney Valley (11-9), 14-6 in the fourth period to win 41-37.
Caney Valley entered the sub-state winning the last nine of eleven games. Riverton is now 9-11 for the season.
The Bullpups started with a 7-0 head start.
