Lady Titan Wrestler, Addison Saporito, added to her collection of titles with KSHSAA Girls Division II, Sub-State 2 Champion following her win in Garnett-Anderson County, Friday night. The 26-6, sophomore paved her way to the KSHSAA Girls Class 4-1A State Championship Tournament in Salina, Friday, with a Girls Division II, District 8 Champion win and a Girls Division II, Region 4 Runner-up in the 109-pound with class.

Lady Titan Senior, Dixee Lacen, collected a District 8 Championship and a Region 4 Championship in the 2021 postseason, but had to settle for third at Sub-State 2 in the 138-pound weight class. She punched her ticket to the state tournament and currently boasts a 21-6 record.

Junior, Emily Welch, 26-5, hung on for fourth place at sub-state in the 132-pound weight class and will be joining Saporito and Lacen on the trip to Salina. Four wrestlers ranked in the top six by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association competed at the Garnett Sub-State 2 Tournament. Emily has had a successful 2021 post season as the District 8 Champion and the Region 4 Runner-up.

As a team, the Lady Titans were aided by freshman, Brooklyn Lima’s sixth place finish in a very close, 5-3, decision in the 143-pound weight class. Her four points pushed Columbus to a fourth place finish in team standings with 61 points. Brooklyn finished 14-15 for the season. Baldwin was the Sub-State 2 Champion with 129 points and will be sending six girls to the state tournament in Salina. Fort Scott was second with 70 points and Paola was third with 67 team points.

Lady Titan Freshman, Madelyn Garcia was eliminated in another close, 6-4 decision, in the 126-pound class, ending her season with a 16-16 overall record.
