Titan Freshman, Drake Laurance, placed fifth in the CNC League Cross Country Meet, Thursday, at the Brush Creek Golf Course in Columbus to earn All-CNC League Honors. Laurance ran a time of 18:36.6 minutes in the 5K race.

The Columbus Titans secured a spot in the Kansas Class 3A playoffs with a District 1 win over Baxter Springs, 42-36, Friday at Titan Stadium. The Titans moved to 2-1 in the District 1 standings and Baxter Springs fell to 1-3. Both teams have wins over Galena and losses to Frontenac.

The Columbus Titan Boys and Girls Cross Country Team hosted the 2023 CNC League Cross Country Meet, Thursday, at the Brush Creek Golf Course. Titan Freshman, Drake Laurance, placed fifth with a time of 18:36.6 minutes to earn All-CNC League Honors as a top-ten finisher.

Titan Freshman, Drake Laurance placed fifth at the 2023 CNC League Cross Country Meet, Thursday, to earn distinction as an All-CNC Honoree. He is being recognized as Titan of the Week. Drake has medaled in all of his races this season, running a time of 18:36 minutes at the league event.

The Lady Titan Volleyball Team made history October 5 at Southeast High School by beating St. Mary’s-Colgan and Southeast to get their 14th win, the most wins ever in a season for CUHS Volleyball. It took three sets to get past the Lady Panthers in a very close match, 25-18; 24-26; 25-23.

SE sweeps final league matches

Tuesday October 10, the Southeast Lady Lancer Varsity Volleyball Team swept Crest and Yates Center in last league night action. The Lady Lancers are 10-1 in league play, 20-11 overall. Southeast prevailed in three sets over Yates Center, 12-25; 25-11; 25-13 and beat Crest in two sets, 25-22;25-18.
Lady Titan Senior, Macey Allison, was chosen as 2023 Fall Homecoming Attendant, Friday night, prior to the football game with St. Mary’s-Colgan. Macey is the daughter of Jason and Nicole Allison. She was escorted by Luke Gray, son of Amy Gray and the late Travis Gray.

Titan Cole Howard broke away for a 95-yard touchdown run in the 44-22, Columbus win over Galena, Monday night at Titan Stadium. Howard also had a 61-yard scoring run and a passing touchdown to Brody Carter for 61 yards in the win.

CJHS takes big win over Galena

A combined Columbus Seventh and Eighth Grade Football Team hosted Galena, Monday night in a schedule change game at Titan Stadium. The Titans earned the win, 44-22. Cole Howard opened the scoring with a 61-yard touchdown run for Columbus in the second quarter.

Titan Cross County runs at Indy

The Columbus Titan Cross Country Team ran in the Independence Invitational Meet, October 5th. Drake Laurance, freshman, continues to impress in the boys’ varsity 5K, placing tenth at Indy with a time of 18:31.05 minutes.

CAYS returns to pitch Saturday

The Columbus Area Youth Soccer League is underway and returns to pitch for their October schedule after taking the weekend off to participate in the Columbus Day Parade. Tomorrow there is full morning of games at Eddington Park on Froebe Fields west of Crossland Edition.
