Titan Golfer, Mack Kirk, junior, had a tough day at the Kansas State High School Activities Association’s Class 3A Golf Tournament in Salina, Monday. Rain and cool weather made the links soggy and canceled the second round of the tournament, sending all golfers home early.

Riverton High School Senior, Garin Gilmore, has been awarded the Burlsworth Character Award for Outstanding Character and Sportsmanship. Garin is an All-State and All-CNC League Offensive Lineman the Riverton Ram Football Team.

Southeast Lancer Seniors, Matthew Martinie and Ryan Wilkins earned three spots each in the Kansas Class 2A Track and Field Championships, today and tomorrow in Wichita. The pair earned their way to Wichita by placing in the top four at the Kansas Class 2A Regional, Friday in Lyndon.
Lady Titan Sophomore, Graci Major, and senior, Lexy Stone, both hit solo, home run shots over the fence in the Tuesday, Kansas Class 3A Regional Semi-final in Baxter Springs. The efforts proved futile as the Lady Lions upset the CNC League Champions, 4-3, to advance to the regional championship.

Home runs were the mode of scoring in the Columbus Lady Titans, 3-4, loss to the Baxter Springs Lady Lions, in the Kansas Class 3A semi-final game, Tuesday, in Baxter Springs, starting in the first inning.
Junior, Blayze McNemar’s solo home run in the top of the sixth inning gave Galena a short-lived, 2-1, lead in the 2-3 loss to Columbus in the Class 3A Regional Quarterfinal, Monday, in Baxter Springs.

The Columbus Lady Titans opened the Kansas Class 3A Regional with a nail-biter win over Galena, Monday, in Baxter Springs, 3-2. The teams traded home runs with the Lady Titans getting the final dinger on a two-run over the fence game winner by sophomore, Graci Major.

Columbus Jr. Golf tourney rescheduled

The Columbus Junior Golf Program began their summer schedule with practices, Monday through Wednesday. A tournament scheduled for Thursday has been rescheduled for May 31. League officials announced the change in the tournament date but will go ahead with the practices as previously announced.
