A three-pound baby entered the world in recent days. This precious child was born after his Mom spent seven weeks in the hospital on bedrest. At home, Dad and two siblings were working, going to school, and worrying.

25 Years Ago November 20 – 26, 1997 An Eagle Scout Court of Honor will be held at the Columbus United Methodist Church for David Holmes, son of Ron and Kay Holmes of Columbus. This is the first Eagle Court of Honor for Troop 74 since the scouting program was reinstated locally in the 1980’s.

Granddaughter Evangeline has been working a few times a week after school at a coffee shop, Java Forest, (Java Jungle was already being used by another shop in town). She was complaining about a customer who asked her, “What do you do here?” She told the customer that she was a barista.

The time has changed, there’s an extra hour of sleep and slight chill in the air at nights now. I woke up early and it was dark. Not wanting to wake my family, but having a burst of energy, I took my flashlight and began to pick up after my grandson whom I babysit each day while his mother works.
