Touring Lincoln family home in 1952

In August 1952, my parents took me and my sister on a vacation which included a stop at Springfield, Il. We parked our 1948 Dodge with no air conditioning, on the street beside a large two-story home that was the Lincoln family home when Abraham Lincoln was elected president.

We don’t sell our shrimp, we eat them

I was up at Lake Surprise, a salt water inland sea, doing some fishing and decided to try shrimping. I got two buckets of shrimp and covered them with ice. When I got home in an hour and a half, there was still ice on the rascals. Now comes the work, cleaning the scavengers.

Guvernment won’t go easy on untaxed whiskey

I reckon we might have to stop Mumford Pickens from posting his comments. He’s getting a little too political. This ain’t good for him. If the guvernment notices him, they’re gonna come snooping around, and that won’t be easy on a producer of fine untaxed whiskey.
