Riverton High School announces second semester honor rolls

Chad Harper, principal of Riverton High School has announced the honor rolls for the second term. Superintendent’s Honor Roll Students making a 4.000 – 4.000 grade point average. Freshmen: Madelynn Darnaby, Maelee Dunn, Bethany Hilderbrand, Kassidy Kell and Sydney Moore.

University of Saint Mary honor roll

University of Saint Mary Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Michelle Metzinger has announced the Fall 2021 Dean’s List. David Swanwick of Chetopa and Jacob Walker of Oswego were named to the list and ended the semester with a 3.5 grade point average or better.

SMS students vie to compete in Countywide spelling bee

Competition and tensions ran high in one local school’s spelling bee Friday, January 7. Southeast Middle School invited the top 20 fifth through eigth grade students to compete to become the top two spellers of their school.

Lions Club members take down tree

Servsafe manager, food handler trainings offered in January

Kansas State University Wildcat Extension District will conduct a ServSafe Food Manager Course two-day training January 31 and February 7, 2022, at 1p.m. each day. Training will be held at Labette Community College Zetmeir Building on the corner of Main and 14th Street in Parsons, KS.
