For the month of November, Cherokee County 4-H has announced that Rebecca Green is the member of the month. Green is a member of the Lone Elm Beavers Club. She is 16 years old and a junior at Columbus Unified High School, is on the Lady Titan Tennis Team and is a member of the Leo Club.

The Columbus Public Library will be open to the public, with a five person limit. Mondays 9 p.m.-6 p.m. Tuesdays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursdays 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Wednesdays 10 a.m.-2 p.m By appointment only. Thursdays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Fridays 9 a.m. - noon. Saturdays 10 a.m.

Mercy Columbus staff decorates pumpkins for fun, prizes

The “Ice Cream” design was submitted by Macy Roberts as part of Mercy Hospital’s pumpkin contest this year. The display features two pink scoops of ice cream that are adorned with whipped cream and a cherry. The design won the first place prize of a gift basket and a mum.

VFW plans noodle meal fundraiser

A chicken and noodle dinner will be served at the Columbus VFW Friday, November 5. They will be serving chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans and dinner roll for a $7 donation. All donations go to the VFW to support local veterans.
