UGH! Moving schools can be hard! If you have ever moved schools you could probably relate to Mimi Chan. “Who is she?” you might ask. She is the main character in the book Full Cicada Moon by Marilyn Hilton. This book is about a girl who is both Japanese and African American.

Results announced in 4-H arts, crafts classes

Results in the 4-H arts and crafts and fine arts classes have been announced. Senior Grand Champion in arts and crafts was awarded to Sylas Stone, Glittering Stones. Senior Reserve Grand Champion was awarded to Dusti Henderson, Spring Valley Sparklers.

The Columbus Public Library will be open to the public, with a five person limit. Mondays 9 p.m.-6 p.m. Tuesdays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursdays 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Wednesdays 10 a.m.-2 p.m. By appointment only. Thursdays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Fridays 9 a.m.-noon. Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon.

Wyatt Alexander was named Grand Champion in Intermediate Fitting and Showing at the dog show held during the Cherokee County Fair. Alexander is a member of the Spring Valley Sparklers. Michael Shepard, Spring Valley Sparklers, was Grand Champion in Senior Fitting and Showing.

The First United Methodist Church of Columbus recently presented Sophia Lacy, Thomas Lacy, and Taylor McDown with the Starr and Eugenia Smith Scholarship. Jace McDown also received the scholarship, but was unable to attend the presentation.
