The St. Mary’s-Colgan Panthers won their Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 2A quarterfinal game against Classical School of Wichita, 54-47, Wednesday at Friends University in Wichita.

Columbus Wrestling Club qualifies 16 for USAWKS State

The Columbus Wrestling Club took six high school age wrestlers to the USAWKS District 1 tournament, Friday. Those six wrestlers along with ten elementary and junior high wrestlers punched their tickets to the state tournament with a top-four district placing.

Cal Ripken sign ups tomorrow

The first of two signup days will be tomorrow for the Columbus Cal Ripken Baseball League. Sign-ups will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the concession stand at the Columbus Community Field Ballpark. The second sign up will be held March 21 at the same location and time.

Columbus Titan Senior, Cal Saporito, signed a National Letter of Intent with Fort Scott Community College to join their Rodeo Team as a bull rider this fall. An official signing was held Tuesday at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium Lobby.

Six Lady Titans wrap season at Kansas Class 3A State

Six Columbus Lady Titans left it all on the mats at the Kansas Class 4A Girls State Wrestling Championships. There were no podium appearances, but the team scored 20 points and were very close in many matches.“What an emotional two days out at Salina,” said CUHS Head Coach Marcus Bowman.

The St. Mary’s-Colgan boys and girls basketball teams have earned a trip to the Kansas Class 2A Basketball State Quarterfinals with their Sub-State wins Friday and Saturday.The boys beat Southeast, 67-36, in Saturday’s Sub-State 2 Bracket Championship.
Frontenac High School All-CNC League and All-State Baseball Alum, Logan Myers, led the Emporia State Hornet Offense with four hits in four plate appearances for two doubles, a single, and a home run in the 14-2, seven inning, run-rule win over the previously undefeated PSU Gorillas, Friday, in Emporia. Myers leads the Hornets with a .408 batting average. He earned distinction as the 2024 MIAA Co-Freshman of the Year. Above he stands in the batter’s box for a 2025 win at MSSU.
