Titans sweep CNC League opener against Lions

The Columbus Titans swept their CNC League home opener against Baxter Springs, 4-1, 1-0, Friday, at Bomber Field.Junior, Jack Vilela took the win on the mound with 5.2 innings pitched, 12 strikeouts and one run allowed.Freshman, Ben Major, pitched one inning with one strikeout in the game one, win.

Lady Titan Senior, Kaitlyn Simpson, was recognized during Senior Night Ceremonies, February 20, at the CUHS Gymnasium. Katie is a three-year member of the Lady Titan Basketball Team and a two-year member of the Lady Titan Wrestling Team. She was escorted by her parents, Laura and Darreld Simpson.

Records fall at Riverton Invitational

The Columbus Junior High Boys Track and Field Teams took second and third place at the Riverton Invitational Track and Field Meet, Thursday, setting four school records in the process.Seventh Grader, Jace Gaither added nearly an inch to the record he set last week in Galena in the discus event.

Ediger tosses perfect game, 15-0

Lady Titan Junior, Hailey Ediger, tossed a perfect game in the 15-0, run-rule, win in Cherryvale, Thursday. Hailey pitched four innings with 11 strikeouts and one put-out for the win.Senior, Graci Major, took the win in the circle in game two, another, run-rule win, 11-0, over the Lady Chargers.

Clark first in 800M at Riverton

Tatum Clark won first place in the seventh grade girls 800 Meter Run (3:15.89 minutes) and the Medley Relay Team of Ryleigh Holmes, Clark, Cloey Mayfield, and Halle Gray took first place with a time of 2:23.

2024 CUHS Seniors recognized

Lady Titan Senior, Megan Hosier, was recognized during the Senior Night festivities at the CUHS Gym, February 20. Megan is a three-year member of the Titan Wrestling Cheer Squad. She was escorted by her parents, Mindy and Preston Hosier.

Titan Golf rescheduled

Stormy weather conditions called for the cancellation and rescheduling of the Titan Golf Team’s outting at Four Oaks Golf Tournament hosted by Fronetenac, Tuesday.The tournament has been rescheduled for April 11. Tee time is set for 1 p.m.

Titans compete at Miami

Titan Senior, Cole Youngblood and junior, Kanyen placed 19th and 23rd, in a tough round of at the Miami Invitation Golf Tournament, March 25.Cole had a scorecard total of 83 and Kanyen tallied 84 for the day.

Volleyball hosting fundraiser 5K run

The CUHS Lady Titan Volleyball Team has set up a fundraiser, 5K run as part of the Get Fit 5K Series.The Dig & Run Race will take place Saturday, April 20, with registrations currently open.

‘Nados take Jr. Varsity win

The Titan Junior Varsity Squad lost their home opener, March 25, at Bomber Field, 7-11, to the Coffeyville Golden Tornados.The Golden Tornados opened by earning their first three runs with the first three batters in the three runs or three outs format game.
