Titan Freshman, Mason O’Banion, placed fourth in the Kansas Class 4A State Wrestling Tournament, Thursday through Saturday in Salina. Mason fulfilled the Kansas Wrestling Coaches prediction after he was ranked fourth in the state by the coaches in their February 20 rankings.
Lady Titan Wrestlers heading to the Kansas Class 4-1A Girls Wrestling State Tournament enjoyed a send off parade for both the girls and boys teams. Senior, Katie Simpson, junior, Emily Britt, freshman, Hannah Noel, senior, Madelyn Garcia, and senior, Brooklyn Lima, were driven to Salina by Titan Head Wrestling Coach, Marcus Bowman. The tournament will take place Thursday through Friday at the Tony’s Pizza Event Center.

St. Mary’s-Colgan is the only CNC League School not in the Kansas Class 3A Sub-State at Caney Valley next week. The Class 2A team will be playing in the Southeast High School Sub-State with the Lancers.

Titan Freshman, Mason O’Banion, advanced to the Kansas Class 4A State Wrestling Semi-final match, today in Salina. Mason received a bye in his first bracket match at tournament, yesterday.

Girls softball sets sign-up dates

The Columbus Girls Softball League have two sign up dates set for the 2024 spring/summer season.Wednesday, league officials will be at the Central School Round Top Gymnasium from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.They will return, Wednesday, March 6 in the same time slot.

Columbus Youth Basketball will host the final round of league games tomorrow in three, USD493 Gymnasiums. The first and second grade girls will lead off the day with games in the Round Top Gym at Central School beginning at 8 a.m.

Lady Titans fall in CNC League finale

The Columbus Lady Titans wrapped up their regular season schedule, Tuesday, on their home court, celebrating Senior Night for winter activity participants. The celebration was less joyful when the Frontenac Lady Raiders took the win, 51-41.
