Caney site for 3A Sub-State

Raiders send six to state tourney

The Frontenac Raider Wrestlers took fourth place at the Kansas Class 4A Regional Wrestling Tournament, Saturday, in Independence. Columbus placed seventh and Girard was 11th with 11 CNC League Wrestlers advancing to the 4A Tournament in Salina, Thursday through Saturday.

Titan Freshman, Mason O’Banion, wrestled his way to a Kansas Class 4A Regional Wrestling Championship at the tournament in Independence, Saturday. Mason (33-1) won the 175-pound weight class to punch his ticket to the Kansas Class 4A State Wrestling Tournament in Salina, Thursday-Saturday.

State Tournament has new format

The Kansas State High School Activities Association has changed the format for the 2024 State Wrestling Tournaments. For the first time, it will be a three-day event for the boys and the girls. Wrestlers will have to make weight each day for three consecutive days.
