Five punch tickets to 4-1A state

Senior, Brooklyn Lima, and junior, Emily Britt, earned Kansas Class 4-3-2-1A Regional Runner- up Titles for the Lady Titans in the Kansas Class 4-1A Columbus A Regional Tournament, Saturday, at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium.

Lady Titan Junior, Emily Britt earned a Kansas Class 4-3-2-1A Regional Runner-up Title with her second place finish at the Kansas Class 4-3-2-1A Girls Wrestling Columbus Regional A, Saturday. She is being recognized as Titan of the Week.

CWC have tough time in Mulvane

The Columbus Wrestling Club had two wrestlers place at the Mulvane Battle of the Belt, Saturday. Kash Smith took second in the 14U, 225-pound weight class and Baylor Bowman was third in the 8U, 61-pound class.

Wrestling JV ends season at Erie

The Columbus Unified High School Wrestling Team wrapped up their 2023-24 season with a junior varsity tournament in Erie, Saturday. Sam Weaver, sophomore, earned first place in the 190-pound weight class while Jaiden Gannaway, junior, placed second in the 132-pound class.

Rec basketball at Baxter Springs

The Columbus Recreation Youth Basketball League will play in Baxter Springs tomorrow at the high school gyms. The first and second grade girls will open the day in the “Big Gym” while the fifth grade boys will start the day in the auxiliary. Both games will be at 8 a.m.

Lady Titans to host 4-1A Regional

The Columbus Lady Titan Wrestling Team is hosting one of four, Kansas Class 4-1A Regional Wrestling Tournaments at the CUHS Gymnasium, tomorrow. The three other regionals will be hosted by McPherson High School, Sabetha High School, and Scott City.

Coffeyville gets past Lady Titans

A pair of treys from junior, Katy Mooney and one from senior, Ava Harman, helped give the Columbus Lady Titans an 11-4 opening quarter against the visiting team from Coffeyville- Field Kindley. But lackluster second half allowed the visitors to surpass the home team and take the win, 45-34.

Tuesday games at CUHS Gymnasium

Columbus Unified High School is hosting the Baxter Springs Boys and Girls Basketball Teams, Tuesday, at the CUHS Gymnasium. All games will be played at the high school gym. No games will be played at the Central School Gym. Beginning at 4 p.m. the Junior Varsity Girls Teams will play two quarters.
