Mini Titan Wrestlers collect hardware at Parsons Invite

The Columbus Wrestling Club placed sixth out of 30 teams at the 2024 Parsons Wrestling Club Invitational, Sunday. The Mini Titans scored 134.5 team points with 26 wrestlers. Red Devil Wrestling won the event with 32 wrestlers generating 218 points.

Lady Titans cage Lady Lions, 56-8

The Columbus Lady Titans breezed past the Baxter Springs Lady Lions for the second in a week. Facing off in the consolation bracket of the Lancer Classic, Friday, Columbus came out on top, 56-8, after taking a win in Baxter Springs on January 12, 578.

Welch wins two power lifting titles

Lady Titan Senior, Lizzy Welch, won her weight class in a January 6, virtual power lifting meet hosted by Eudora High School and was first place overall in the Power weight class, January 13, at the Wichita East Blue Aces Power Invitational virtual meet.

Titans edge Blue Streaks in Classic

Columbus Titan Senior, Cole Youngblood, received an inbound pass with 7.1 seconds on the game clock, drove the court and into the lane for a layup, stealing the win, 5453, from the Neodesha Blue Streaks, Friday, at the Lancer Classic in Cherokee.

Lancer Classic All-Tourney Team

Lady Titans Katy Mooney, junior, and Ellie Helms, sophomore were named to the 2024 Lancer Classic All-Tournament Girls Team at the conclusion of the tournament, Saturday. Titan Senior, Cole Youngblood was named to the 2024 Lancer Classic All-Tournament Boys Team.

Titans win Sportsmanship Award

The Columbus Unified High School Wrestling Team won the Sportsmanship Award at the Euerka Invitational Wrestling Tournament, Saturday. The Lady Titans won the Fourth Annual Eureka Girls Invitational and the Titans took fourth place in the 30th Annual Eureka Invitational.

O’Banion 30th Annual Eureka Invite Champion

Titan Freshman, Mason O’Banion won the 175-pound weight class at the 30th Annual Eureka Invitational, Saturday. Mason earned 25 team points to help the Titans to a fourth place finish in the field of 27 teams. Newton placed first with 13 wrestlers scoring 254.5 team points.

Simpson, Lima, Columbus win at Euerka Invitational

The Columbus Lady Titans took first place at the fourth annual Eureka Women`s Invitational Wrestling Tournament, Saturday. Seniors, Katie Simpson and Brooklyn Lima led the way, winning their weight classes and compiling 26 and 24 points for their team.

Titan of the Week

Lady Titan Senior, Lizzy Welch, won her weight class in a January 6, virtual lifting meet hosted by Eudora High School and was first place overall in the Power Weight Class, January 13, at the Wichita East virtual meet. She is being recognized as Titan of the Week.

Eight take first in Matside tourney

The Matside Wrestling Club hosted a tournament, Saturday in Girard. The Open/Novice/Girls members of the Columbus Wrestling Club sent 39 wrestlers to compete in the 34-team event. Eight Mini Titan Wrestlers placed first in the tournament in their respective age/weight classes.
