Pittsburg State University Lady Gorilla, Grace Pyle, broke the school’s 44-year-old single game scoring record pouring in 41 points to lead the Pittsburg State University women’s basketball team to a 95-76 victory over the University of Central Oklahoma, December 9.

Rhett Tedlock, Columbus Wrestling Club, placed fourth in the Marshfield, Mo. Holiday Championship Tournament, Saturday. Rhett won two matches by pin. Columbus Wrestling Club teammate, Lucas Natalini also wrestled at the tournament but did not place.

Rhett Tedlock and Lucas Natalini competed in the Marshfield, Mo. Holiday wrestling tournament, Satuday. Rhett placed fourth in the six and under, 45 pound weight class.

Columbus will be back on the court January 5 at Girard for boys and girls games beginning at 4:30 p.m. with junior varsity action.

Braun Stone has his opponent under control during the Columbus Duals at the CUHS Gymnasium. The Columbus Titan and Lady Titan Wrestlers are well into their season and will be back on the mats following Christmas Break, January 4 they will host the Pittsburg High School Purple Dragons for girls and boys duals at the Columbus Unified High School Gym. Wrestling will begin at 5 p.m.

The Columbus Mini Wrestling Club had a busy weekend with tournaments in Neosho, Mo., Tonganoxie and Erie. Lucas Natalini took first place in the Kids Open Tournament, Sunday, in Tonganoxie. He also wrestled in Neosho, Saturday. 10U Open 73 Lucas Natalini placed first.

The Columbus Lady Titans won their multi-dual event, Friday, coming back to knock off Burlington, 48-34, after losing to their visitors in pool play. They beat Cherryvale in the first round of bracket play, 5427, to advance to th championship dual and a chance to avenge their only loss of the day.

Miami, Okla. won the eight-team, Titan Duals, Saturday, at the CUHS Gymnasium after breezing through pool play to a number one seed in the championship bracket. The Wardogs downed Nevada, Mo., 47-30, to take first place. They handed Bentonville, Ark.
