The Columbus Titan Wrestlers split a double dual at Frontenac, December 7. Columbus beat Girard, 45-30, but lost to their hosts, 21-49, in varsity action.

The Columbus Girls Wrestling Team swept a double dual, December 7, in Frontenac. The Lady Titans took a decisive win over Frontenac, 54-30, and edged Girard, 42-39, in the hard fought sweep.

The Columbus bass fishing team of Levi Snow and Craig Ruddick weighed in 23 pounds 11 ounces over two days to come in 28th place. Earning them $1,000 in the Bass Pro Shops, then $1,000 on the Harris Chain Of Lakes in Central Florida.

Titan crush Chargers on road

The Columbus Titan Varsity Basketball Team got off to an early, 14-6, lead in their non-conference win, 60-26, in Cherryvale Tuesday night. Senior, Cole Youngblood, opened the Titan scoring from the free throw line and senior, Huck Hallam, made the first field goal for a 3-0 lead.

Columbus JV picks up first win

The Titan Junior Varsity picked up their first win at Cherryvale, 38-33, Tuesday, in a non-conference game. Kooper Saiz led the Titan scoring with 13 points in the win. Cooper Bush, sophomore, added 11 points and Ethan Midgett, freshman, was in double figures with 10 points.

Columbus boys third in MOKAN Classic

The Columbus Titans split their games and took third at the first MOKAN Classic Basketball Tournament in Liberal, Mo. December 8 and 9. The Titans lost a nail biter in their opening game to College Heights, 5159, Friday night and beat Southeast in the consolation, third place game, Saturday, 57-37.

Junior Varsity winless in MOKAN

The junior varsity lost to College Heights, 45-18 with Cooper Bush, sophomore, scoring six points, freshman, Ethan Midgett, with five points, freshmen, Easton Long, Levi Simpson, and Saiz with two points each, and sophomore, Gunnison Daniels with one point. Southeast won Saturday’s bout, 48-20.

The Columbus Lady Titans edged the Lady Chargers, 46-45, in a nonconference game, Tuesday, in Cherryvale. The Lady Chargers jumped out to a 14-5 lead in the first period with the help of an eight for eight performances at the free throw line.

Lady Titans lose junior varsity bout

The Cherryvale Lady Chargers Junior Varsity trounced the Columbus Junior Varsity Squad, 34-9, in Cherryvale, Tuesday, in two quarters of play. Marchant scored 14 points in the first quarter to pace the Lady Chargers and added four in the second to lead all scorers with 18.

The Columbus Lady Titans got a 59-40 win over College Heights in the first round game of the MOKAN Tournament, Friday, at the CUHS Gymnasium.
