Football contest week 9 results

There was just one upset in the Kansas Class 3A State playoff bracket, Friday, across the state. CNC League teams hosting round one games all took wins on their home fields.
Titan Senior, Jace Midgett, returns his second interception of the game in the 21-0, Columbus shut out over the Parsons Vikings in round one of the Kansas State Class 3A Playoffs, Friday, at Titan Stadium. Jace returned two interceptions for a total of 30 yards to help the Titans in the victory. Columbus will play at LaCygne-Prairie View, Friday, for round two of the playoff bracket. Kick off is at 7 p.m.

Titans advance in 3A playoff bracket

The Columbus Unified High School Fighting Titans punched their tickets to the second round of the Kansas Class 3A State Playoff with a shut out over the Parsons Vikings, 21-0, Friday, at Titan Stadium.

Football contest results

Last Friday night may have had some great games and several games were teams had played before but most of the usual football contest winners had a bad night.Megan Kirk was the first place winner with a score of 73 out of a possible 105. This was her first win. Some recent winners finished last.

Kenadie is a three-year member of the Titan Cross Country Team, one-year member of the Lady Titan Volleyball Team, and one-year member of the Titan Cheer Squad. She was escorted by her parents, Johna and Travis Carter.

Lady Lancer Volleyball Class 2A Regional Runner-up

Southeast was eliminated from volleyball postseason in a three-set, sub-state loss to Wichita Central Christian Academy, 25-22, 15-25, 18-25, Saturday, on their home court.In the first match, the Lady Lancers defeated Leon- Bluestem in two sets, 25-16; 25-20 before taking on the Wichita school.

CJHS basketball, wrestling underway

The Columbus Junior High School has started their winter sports schedules for girls basketball and boys and girls wrestling.The Lady Titan Grapplers have a very busy week to begin their November slate of matches. The team will be in Independence, Monday, and travel to Parsons, Tuesday.

The regular season schedules were completed Friday, and the Kansas State playoff bracket has been set beginning with a replay of at least two season finale games for Class 3A, District 1 and 2.

Titans sink Vikings in District 1 finale

The Columbus Titans secured their second place seed in the Kansas Class 3A, District 1 standings with a 28-14 win over Parsons on Senior Night in Columbus.

Laurance, Woodcock cross country state bound

Girard Trojan Senior, Houston McGrown, was the Kansas Class 3A, Regional 3 Individual Champion leading Girard to a second place team finished in the boy’s championship. He completed the 5K race in a time of 15:29.7 minutes at Central Heights High School in Richmond, Saturday.

SE runners Sutton, Gabern to CC state

The Southeast Cross Country program traveled to the Kansas Class 2A Central Heights Regional Meet, Saturday. The girls were hoping to qualify an individual and the boys had high hopes of qualifying as a team.
