Baxter student places second in spelling bee

Representing Central Elementary School in Baxter Springs, Kansas, fifth grade student Alexis Main faced 37 other students representing fourth, fifth, and sixth grades from schools in Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas during the 43 rd Annual Joplin Globe Spelling Bee.

Titan Alley closed for construction

Titan Alley by Columbus High School will be closed for the next several days due to construction. Students will need to go to the south end of the high school for bus pickup.

A pulled pork fundraiser was held by Mercy Hospital Columbus Auxiliary at the St. Rose Parish Hall on March 9. Michele Weber, Jane Ann Turner and Sharon Koons worked together to box up a number of the sandwiches as the lunch rush began.
