Participants needed for Boys State program

The American Legion Boys State of Kansas is taking registrations for its 2023 session. The event is scheduled to be held Sunday, June 4, through Saturday, June 10, at Kansas State University in Manhattan. This will be the program’s 31st consecutive session at KSU and 85th overall.

Fundraiser planned for trio

A pulled pork sandwich fundraiser is planned to assist Tracy Lopp, Fern Henderson and Larita Hendricks. For the cost of a donation diners will receive a pulled pork sandwich, chips, dessert and a drink. The event will be held Wednesday, February 1 at the 4H Building from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Drury University has announced their fall Dean’s List. Local students named to the list include Matthew Dalton, Baxter Springs, who is a graduate of Ozark High School; Chloe Harnar, from Galena, a graduate of Galena High School and Mason Huebner, from McCune who is a graduate of Girard High School.

Miners Hall museum 2023 first quarter exhibits

Miners Hall Museum’s first quarterly exhibit of 2023 is entitled “Of Money and Metals: Doing Business in the Mining Era.” Dave Sorrick, will be the host. He is the co-owner of In God We Trust LLC in Mindenmines, Mo. Sorrick has over forty years of numismatic experience as a collector and dealer.
