Charles Meyer took the top in the, Restored to Original Class, with his 1930 Pontiac, Steve Goodman of Carthage, Mo., was second with is 1970 Plymouth Duster and David Hudson of Quapaw, Okla., was the third-place winner with his 1970 Chevy Nova. There were 73 entries in the car show.

Retired School personnel resume meeting

The end of summer vacation brings with it the return of meetings for the Cherokee County Retired School Personnel. Their first meeting was held September 21 at the First United Methodist Church. In the president and vice-president’s absence, member Jane Ann Turner welcomed everyone.
The grand finale at the 83rd Weir Homecoming Parade were the horses. In addition, two-wheeled carts pulled by ponies carried their riders along the parade route.
