Physicals, forms past due

Students planning to participate in fall sports at Columbus Unified High School and Columbus Junior High School must have a current physical and concussion form file with their respective school offices.

Annual Lawn Chair scrimmage Saturday

The Columbus Fighting Titan Football Team is holding it’s annual Lawn Chair Scrimmage, Saturday at Titan Stadium. Mini Titans in grades three through sixth will kickoff the day from 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. The Titans will take the field for their scrimmage at 9:15 a.m.

Results announced in 4-H, HYA, FFA Horse classes

Results have been announced in the 4-H, Future Farmers of America and Heritage Youth Association Horse classes. In Senior Fitting and Showing Jessie Dietz, Prairie Ramblers, was the Grand Champion. Madisen Rand, FFA, was the Reserve Champion.

CAY Soccer signups continue

The Columbus Area Youth Soccer League will continue to take sign-ups through the August 24, USD 493 Back-to-School Carnival. The league will begin practices the last week of August and games will begin September 16.

Mini Titan Football begins conditioning

The Mini Titan Tackle Football Squads began practice last night with a parent meeting at the Central School Soccer Pitch. The third and fourth grade and fifth and sixth grade held their first practice after the meeting. They will also be on the soccer field tonight and Thursday night at 6 p.m.

Youth/Adult Tournament winners

The Columbus Junior Golf Program held their annual Youth/Adult Golf Tournament to close out their summer season, Thursday evening on their home course at Brush Creek Golf Club.

Lady Titans scrimmage before meet

The Columbus Lady Titan Volleyball Team will be on the court for an intra-squad scrimmage at prior to the annual Titan Booster Club’s Meet the Titans Night, Monday, at the CUHS Gymnasium.

Ribbon winners named in Cherokee County sheep classes

Results have been posted in the 4-H, Future Farmers of America and Heritage Youth Association Sheep classes. In the showmanship classes, Emma Duling, HYA, was Grand Senior Champion. Emma Walker, Glittering Stones, was Reserve Senior Champion.

Simpson commits to Crowder College

Lady Titan Senior, Katie Simpson, announced she will join the Lady Roughrider Softball Team at Crowder College following here 2024 graduation from Columbus Unified High School.
