Christmas market planned at First Assembly in Baxter

Two days of music, food, crafters and more is planned Friday, December 3 from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. and Saturday, December 4 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 1245 Park in Baxter Springs.
Friday evening’s entertainment will include Riverton High School Choir at 6 p.m.

Grants awarded to two area libraries

Two local libraries have been awarded grants from the Southeast Kansas Library System. SEKLS offers a competitive grant program annually. This year’s grant program is for collection development.
Columbus Public Library has been awarded a grant of $1,250.

Titan Jazz is ‘On the Road Again’ in musical review

On the Road Again was the title of the Titan Jazz performance held November 12 and 13. In Road Construction, Casey Soper, Emily Welch and Emma Duling were dressed as construction workers, complete with road signs and hard hats.

A musical review entitled On the Road Again, written and directed by Christine Lovell and Gae Phillips was performed by the Titan Jazz band. In a skit called Airport Problems, Torie Tedlock and Paige Hunt have a discussion about the contents of luggage.
