Today is the last day to register your scarecrow entry with the Chamber office. Contact the office to receive your location assignment. The Columbus Day committee is preparing for its 22nd scarecrow contest to be held during the Columbus Day Festival and Hot Air Balloon Regatta.
Many unique vendors will be on hand during the Columbus Day Festival. There will be food and crafts of all kinds. This would be the perfect place to get a jump start on those Christmas gifts. You might even find some fresh baked cookies, cake or pastries.

Crafts of all types will be available at many different booths on Kansas Street during the Columbus Day Festival – wood items, clothing, jewelry, novelties, bake sales, metal art and more. Whatever you are in the market for you probably will be able to find. Start your Christmas shopping now.
Antique tractors and farm equipment will be on display during the Columbus Day Festival. Many of the owners also drive their pieces in the parade. There will also be a Tractor Pull Saturday afternoon October 10. Sunday, October 11 there is a Mini Rod and Garden Tractor Pull planned. Both are set to take place at the Saddle Club Arena.

Thanks to the Connecting Point Church, Columbus Future Farmers of America Chapter and Maple UnCommon Guest House and Gallery, the Columbus Day Festival will once again have a Children’s Corner on the Southwest corner of the square in the intersection of Pennsylvania and Pine.
