Award winners at the Cherokee Homecoming car show on Saturday included Jack Johnson and Aden Smith. Smith was recognized as the future of the car show and Johnson was recognized for his dedication to the show over the years. Both winners are in front of one of three cars shown by Johnson.
Misty Nersth and Kay Jiles visited at the bean caldron during the Cherokee Homecoming on Friday night. The beans, cornbread and cobbler drew a big crowd Friday night.
Four large caldrons filled with hot soupy beans were consumed by visitors to the annual Cherokee Homecoming which kicked off Friday evening with the bean feed. The beans were the drawing card but the various fruit cobblers by Kristie French were the capper.
The evening was filled with visiting and reminiscing about the glory days of Cherokee.
