Fire departments across the county are urging residents to be cautious this time of year as drier weather coupled with strong winds can cause an increased risk for fires.Crews with the Columbus, Scammon and West Mineral were busy Sunday afternoon battling a blaze along K7 Highway north of Columbus.

Gerald Del Thompson, 33, was arrested Thursday by Galena Police officers on charges of interference with law enforcement officer; obstruct or resist and four counts of failure to appear and is being held in lieu of $2,665 bail.
