Another successful Christmas Holiday Market has come and gone and another photo with Santa is taken for the scrapbook.With 40 vendors displaying their wares in the Central gymnasiums the shopping was fierce.
Current Columbus Librarian Lauren Dainty has changed the library into more than a place to get a book. She has developed programs for youngsters on a regular basis. The above photo was taken during her first year.

Some Galena residents had to evacuate their homes early Saturday morning following a vehicle crashing into an above ground Kansas Gas Service pipe. The incident occurred in the area of Eleventh Street and Wood Street. The impact caused a major gas leak.Just before 4 a.m.

Patrick Michael Griffith, 50, was admitted to the Cherokee County Law Enforcement Center on a court ordered commitment.Sterling Reece, 49, was arrested Wednesday by Wyandotte Nation on charges of failure to appear and is being held in lieu $500 bail.
