New officers for Lowell Township were appointed by the Cherokee County Commissioners following a search.Beverly Hayes was appointed Lowell Township Treasurer and her husband Randall Hayes was appointed Township Trustee from the applicants received for the position.

There were three meetings held throughout the county giving the Cherokee County residents the opportunity to input their opinion on zoning the county and the building of a Comprehensive Plan.
