First responders receive active threat training

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Cherokee County EMS conducted training for fire fighters, EMS and law enforcement from agencies throughout Cherokee County.The focus of the training was on the response to an active threat event.

Cameron John Snyder, 32, was arrested Tuesday by Baxter Springs Police officers on charges of driving under the influence and refusal to submit preliminary breath or saliva test and was released on $1,345 bail.

Casino revenue falls short in June

Closing out their fiscal year, which runs from July to June, Kansas Crossing Casino saw just a one percent increase in revenue over their previous fiscal year despite a decrease in June revenues year over year.Casino revenue for June 2026 came to a total of $3,093,932.43, a drop of $284,452.
