Baxter Springs mayoral election costs $3,304

The recent Baxter Springs primary election bill was presented for payment to the City Council on Tuesday evening.The $3,304.18 bill from Cherokee County was the cost of the mayoral primary which cut the candidates from four to two candidates in the November election. The council approved payment.

Pink Ladies plan fundraiser for mammography equipment

A significant fundraiser campaign to benefit the local hospital is currently underway by the Mercy Columbus Hospital Auxiliary. The group aims to raise $40,000--ten percent of the cost of a new inhouse 3D mammography imaging machine.
