Keeping Up With The Lone Elm BeaversOn August 17, 2025 at 5 p.m. the Lone Elm Beavers met for their monthly meeting at the 4-H building. To start the meeting, the club president selected Olivia and Danelle to lead the club in the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H pledge.

Open class rabbit show ribbons

Open Results of the rabbit show have been announced. Grand Champion overall rabbit went to Joshua Brown. Reserve Champion overall rabbit went to Allison Brown. Ribbon placings in open class are only blue, red and white.

Cheyanne Evalena Yvonne Slichenmyer, 29, was arrested Monday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on charges of failure to appear and is being held without bail.

KBI to break ground on new crime center

Kansas law enforcement, legislators and officials will break ground on the KBI Regional Crime Center and Laboratory, a facility to be used for KBI investigative and laboratory operations, PSU criminal justice education, and law enforcement training.

Labor Day is a good time to reflect on the history of workers in America. One of the most interesting periods came during the Great Depression with the Works Progress Administration, later called the Work Projects Administration, from 1935 to 1943.
