Latrista Dawn Messer, 41, was arrested Monday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on charges of failure to appear and is being held in lieu of $2,500 bail.

Eric Steven Blundell, 51, was arrested Monday by Oswego Police officers on charges of assault and two counts of battery on a Law Enforcement officer and is being held in lieu of $398.50 bail.

Scammon man dies in head on collision

A head-on collision five miles west of Columbus on US 160 at just before 10 a.m. Thursday morning resulted in the death of a Scammon man.Alan D. Christmas, Scammon, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
