Skeletal remains found near Columbus

Human skeletal remains located in a wooded area just west of Columbus, Sunday are thought to be those of Jaden Santini.Santini was reported missing from Columbus in December of 2023. There were personal items in the area, which point to his identity.

Two arrested in stabbing case

Reports of a shooting led Cherokee County Sheriff’s deputies to a stabbing on the evening of March 9 at 1776 NW Highway 7 north of Columbus.Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found that gun shots had been fired, however no one had been struck by a bullet.

Family accosted at Missouri mall

A Columbus lady says she has made her last trip to the Joplin, Mo. North Park Mall after dark following a harrowing experience.She parked at the north end of the mall with her two daughters, they went into the mall and came out after an hour of shopping.
