It is the time of the year for organizations to have fundraisers with local favorites from the kitchen. The Columbus Lions Club held their annual Bean or Vegetable Soup feed at the St. Rose Parish Hall on Thursday, March 6. Easton Long, a member of the Leo Club at Columbus High School helped serve the homemade cornbread.

As the Easter Holiday season nears, and with the beginning of lent, the annual Saint Bridget’s Catholic Church Friday Fish Fry was held in the Scammon Parish Hall. Some folks who don’t eat fish such as Luke Holden go for the grilled cheese sandwiches and a side or two.
Young entrepreneurs showcased their business ideas at the recent fair at Riverton High School. Karlee McPhail, Riverton, placed second with her business JoJo’s Equine.
