With temperatures already reaching the high 80’s and low 90’s communities are opening pools and splashpads to help residents cool off.Columbus offers two water based activities for adults and youngsters.

Rehab completed on Columbus water tower

Much to the jubilation of many city water customers, the City of Columbus has finished the rehabilitation of their water tower.The project, which is part of a ten-year service and maintenance agreement, started in April, and has included a complete refurbishing of the tower.

A community fundraiser to support Baxter Springs Police and Fire Departments will be held Saturday at Harp’s, 1400 Military Ave. in Baxter Springs. A hot dog meal will be served for $2.50 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.All proceeds will benefit the two departments.
