Love to ReadI don’t spend much time on Facebook, but in February I was required to do nothing but “rest” for two weeks—surgeon’s orders.That “down time” provided me with Facebook scrolling, reading and handwork stitching time.

Columbus barber fighting cancer

A well-known Columbus fixture and popular long-time barber, Ed Semonick, has been diagnosed with three forms of cancer. He recently had surgery to remove tongue cancer and had a feeding tube inserted. Doctors are now deciding procedures for the esophagus and stomach cancer.

The state of the annual Freedom Fest is tenuous. Freedom Fest 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, in Columbus City Park beginning at 5 p.m.Columbus Fire Department, who is coordinating the event has announced currently, the event is not fully funded.
