Industry appreciation month

June is Kansas Business and Industry Appreciation Month; the month we honor the hard-working Kansans who enhance the economy of our state and community of Columbus. The Columbus Chamber is urging all citizens to join in this important observance and salute local businesses in Columbus.

Cherokee County Jail Report

Jarod Wayne Smith, 38, was arrested Sunday by Galena Police officers on charges of possession of certain stimulants and use or possess drug paraphernalia for use in the human body and is being held in lieu of $6,000 bail.

Labette County Jail Report

Justin Paul Martin, 47, was arrested Saturday by Chetopa Police officers on charges of driving while suspended and was released on $600 bail.

The new Splash Pad water feature in Discovery Park is officially open following the ribbon cutting Friday evening. The families who donated the funds to build the spray pool attended the official opening which was quite an event.
