Price of concealed carry permits going up

Although Kansas adult residents who are not legally prohibited from possessing firearms are able to carry concealed weapons, within the state without a permit, Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves reminds citizens of an upcoming important date as it relates to the Kansas Protection of Firearms Act.

Area Accident Report

A Jasper, Mo., man was killed in a motorcycle accident June 1. Jason A. Lipari, 51, was traveling west on Highway NN, seven miles northeast of Avilla, Mo., on a 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle. Lipari ran off the roadway, struck a ditch, struck a utility pole and overturned. Lipari was ejected.
