Big Brutus miner’s reunion brings memories

Nothing brings miners together like the opportunity to visit with other miners and a free meal. Saturday afternoon the Big Brutus Miners Reunion and fish fry supplied an abundance of both those drawing cards.

Area Accident Report

A Jasper, Mo., man was killed in a motorcycle accident June 1. Jason A. Lipari, 51, was traveling west on Highway NN, seven miles northeast of Avilla, Mo., on a 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle. Lipari ran off the roadway, struck a ditch, struck a utility pole and overturned. Lipari was ejected.
