A 2012 Chevy Cruze, driven by Trent Smith, was northbound on K7 near Coal Valley Road and collided with a southbound 2018 International semi. Smith was transported to an area hospital. The accident happened at approximately 5:57 p.m. Tuesday. Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated.

Murder, mayhem and moving music are sweeping across the stage during Cherokee County Arts’ latest production. Some 30 of the area’s most talented artists have already been showing off their sleek skills in Galena High School Performing Arts Center for their telling of Sweeney Todd.

Commission discusses recycling with Burton

A tense conversation took place during the Cherokee County Commissioners meeting on March 7. Jim Burton from the Cherokee County Solid Waste Committee approached the board, believing that they were not doing enough to support the organization’s efforts to move recycling trailers for citizens’ use.
