Barbershop chorus elects new officers

The Ozark Gateway Barbershop Chorus has announced its officers for 2022. They are: Mike Baggerly, President; Jim Masoner, Vice President; Stewart Spencer, Secretary; Larry Swift, Treasurer; Don Snow, Board-Member-At-Large; Brad Gibson, Board-Member-At-Large and John Meriwether, Music Librarian.

Mark your calendar for Saturday (tomorrow) morning. The Columbus American Legion Auxiliary will be serving their monthly sausage gravy and biscuit breakfast. Juanita Dobkins was busy keeping up with the orders at last month’s event. Service will begin at 7 a.m. and continue through 10:30 a.m.

RHS announces third term honor rolls

Riverton High School has announced honor rolls for the third term. Students making the Superintendent’s Honor Roll 4.000 – 4.000 grade point average include: Freshmen: Madelynn Darnaby, Maelee Dunn, Bethany Hilderbrand, Kassidy Kell, Sydney Moore and Sadie Starchman.

Auxiliary hears McNemar named president

Columbus Mercy Hospital Auxiliary began their recent meeting with a report from Angie Saporito that Dr. Mark McNemar has been named president of the board of Mercy Clinics in Southeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri. He is a graduate of Columbus High School.

Area students graduate from Baylor

Baylor University celebrated nearly 1,800 graduates who received their degrees during summer and fall commencement ceremonies. Area graduates include Abbi Lynne Phillips from Galena, Master of Social Work, Diana R. Garland School of Social Work received her degree in the December Graduation.
