After earning her Silver Award in Girl Scouts last month, Anna Head was presented with a proclamation declaring March 12 as National Girl Scout Day and the week of March 6 as Girl Scout week in the city.

The annual Pinewood Derby was held by Baxter Springs Cub Scouts Pack 15 held recently at First Christian Church in Baxter Springs. This event is a longstanding tradition for the Cub Scouts.
