Silver-plated pitchers were made by Reed & Barton, a company founded in Taunton, Massachusetts, in 1822. The pitchers look like the double-faced stoneware pitchers made by the Martin Brothers in England between 1875 and 1915. Similar pitchers were also made by Royal Doulton.

City reviews health insurance coop plan

The City of Columbus has been approached by KMIT (Kansas Municipal Investment Trust) for an opportunity to take a comprehensive look at the Health Insurance Plan. In May of this year, the KMIT Board participated in conversations regarding the creation of a health insurance group.

RR crossing closed at TAMKO Road for week

The BNSF Railway crossing at TAMKO Road on K-7, just north of Columbus will be closed today Monday through October 8. The work is expected to begin at 6 a.m. each day and continue until evening. K-7 will be closed to traffic at the work zone.

Eddington takes first in contest

Three first time winners in this years Columbus Merchants Football Contest as Bob Eddington, Columbus, took first place. Second place went to Myra Fraizier, Galena and third place was captured by Robin Jessee, Columbus. All three of the winning entries missed the Iola vs.

The Kansas Steel Guitar Association (KSGA) concluded their 18th annual convention in Baxter Springs this weekend. The KSGA player of the year award was presented to Rich Eaves of Carthage, Missouri. Eaves received the Pioneer Award in 2017.
