Asphalt paving began in Columbus

Asphalt paving began in Columbus Thursday as Tennessee Street was paved, from Maple Street to Country Road. North Magnolia Street was paved one half-block north of Maple and the pavers will finish up with High School Street from Maple Street to Highway US 160.

Natural Resources 2021 Award to Mussa family

The Cherokee County Farm Bureau Natural Resources Award was presented Monday night at the organization’s annual meeting. This award recognizes and promotes practices used by farmers and ranchers that help protect soil, water, grasslands and air.

County ambulance services merge

A merger has been completed between the county’s three ambulance services. According to an announcement by the District 3 ambulance board and staff in Baxter Springs. The District One and Two services were expected to take over the equipment and building at midnight Friday, October 1.
