With the budget hearing slated for August 24, Cherokee County Commissioners are running short on time to finalize the 2027 County Budget.That task has been made more difficult following a snafu with the Revenue Neutral Rate.

Mineral reunion seeks reservations

Another All School Reunion for Mineral High School alumni is in the works. This reunion will be held at the new part of the Catholic Parish Hall in Scammon from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. August 29.Dinner will be served at approximately 5 p.m.

Brandon Wade Bartlett, 34, was arrested Friday by Chetopa Police officers on charges of domestic battery and was released.Troy Michael Bartlett, 63, was arrested Friday by Chetopa Police officers on charges of domestic battery and was reeased.

Aaron Daniel Jones, 37, was arrested Saturday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on charges of failure to appear and is being held without bail.

A presentation about the Operation Christmas Child program began the July meeting of Chapter V PEO. The meeting was held at the First Baptist Church, 200 W. Sycamore in Columbus.Heather Mentze the Area Co-Ordinator talked about the shoebox ministry. She is a PEO with Chapter L from Iola.
