Chandrus Lamont Covington, 51, was arrested Tuesday by Oswego Police officers on charges of interference with law enforcement officer, assault of a Law Enforcement officer, unlawful display of license plates and transmit false information to request emergency services and is being held without bail.

More than 3,000 voters turned out to the polls across Cherokee County Tuesday to cast ballots in the August primary election. Of that number, more than two-thirds were registered Republicans.

What started as a small fire Monday afternoon quickly spread to engulf multipole acres including a file of more than a hundred railroad ties. Columbus Fire Fighters Kale Kitterman and Cody Burton work to contain the large fire as part of a six-man, three apparatus crew that responded to the fire.
