For the past 100 years an integral part of the local newspaper throughout the United States has been featuring the doings of the youth of the community.This includes youth sports, youth activities and 4-H.

Post office reports break-ins

Multiple break-ins have occurred at the Columbus Post office in recent weeks, according to Kyle Clark Columbus Chief of Police.The post office in Columbus has been broken into at least twice in the last two months with post office boxes being broken into and mail removed.

Baxter Chamber elects new officers

The Baxter Springs Chamber of Commerce has elected new officers and invites potential members to their monthly coffee.The new officers include Dale Helwig, Holly Johnson, Ben Kerr, Pamela Mitchell, Sara Comer, Jennifer Burton, Michele Rickman, Shane Dotson, Jim Case, John Terry and Angie Pearce.
