Citizen disputes county right of way

A citizen contacted Commissioner Jack Garner to complain about a neighbor’s fence being on the county road right -of-way.Dr. Corey Bates, a veterinarian, said he recently bought a property in Cherokee County which he fenced. He built a fence on the survey line that was made in the property purchase.

The Weir elementary school building is destined to be demolished following action by the USD 247 Board of Education last week.The board voted to keep the structure for the remainder of 2025-26 school year.
