Titans win border battle marathon

The Columbus Titan Baseball Team evened their season record to 9-9 with a marathon, ten inning, walkoff win 11-10 over the visiting, Lamar, Mo. Tigers, Thursday, on Bomber Field at the Community Field Ball Park.

Lady Titan Senior, Morgan Richards tossed her 100th career strikeout, Tuesday, in a double header split with Northeast at Rockette Field. She is being recognized as Titan of the Week.Morgan has collected 70 of those 100 strikeouts this season in nine starts and 15 games played.

Scott, relay set new CJHS records

Titan Eighth Grader, Tanner Scott, set a new record in the Pole Vault event and the eighth grade 4x400 Meter Relay Team of Blaze Bowman, Cord Saporito, Elijah Shoemaker, and Hayden Kellogg improved on their existing record with a new, sub-four minute time of 3:57.

BHS wins back-to-back team titles

The Baxter Springs High School Golf Team came out on top for the second week in a row at the St. Mary’s-Colgan Invitational on the course at Crestwood Country Club, Tuesday. The team won their home tournament in Baxter Springs last week.
A new mark was set by the eighth grade 4x400 Meter Relay Team at their home meet Monday. Blaze Bowman, Cord Saporito, Elijah Shoemaker, and Hayden Kellogg, improved on their previous record with a new time of 3:57.44 minutes.

Gaither, Simpson, Howard win gold in multi-meet week

The Columbus Titan Track and Field Team hosted the Columbus Invitational Meet, Tuesday at the Central School Complex.Wind was a factor for some events, but freshman, Jace Gaither, added a pair of gold medals to his trophy case by taking first place in the discus and shot put events.

Lady Titans suffer first sweep to Galena

The Columbus Lady Titans had a week much like those affected by the bad weather as they suffered their first sweep in recent memory to the Galena Lady Bulldogs.

Columbus wins JV double header at home

The Columbus Junior Varsity Squad took two wins in the CNC League double header over Girard, April 7 at Rockette Field in the Columbus Community Field Ball Park, 9-8 and 9-7.Both teams scored three runs in the first inning.

Conditions cancel JV golf, baseball

The Columbus Junior Varsity Golf Team did not play in the Labette County JV Tournament, Thursday, due to weather conditions. No make-up date will be scheduled.The Titan Baseball varsity double header against the Coffeyville Golden Tornado was also canceled by wet field conditions.

Bowman, 4x200M Relay win gold

Blaze Bowman, eighth grade hurdler and the Columbus Junior High Seventh Grade 4x200 Meter Relay Team of Kasen Sallee, Wyatt Linn, Lydon Atkinson, and Kaid Tanner, took first place in the Girard Invitational, one of the toughest meets in the area, Thursday. Blaze ran a personal best (PB) time of 15.
