Major ranked second in NJCAA ERA

Former Lady Titan All-CNC and All-State Pitcher, Graci Major, is working hard in the circle at Seminole State College for the Lady Trojans.
The Columbus Junior High Golf Team placed second in the Galena Invitational Tournament, Thursday, at Schifferdecker Golf Course. Team members are: Caden Stark, Jake Wary, Trevor Lacen, Kip Saporito, Tymber Newberry, Ally Walters, Raelee Engroff, and Raygen Spoonemore. The teams top four scorecards totaled 246 combined points. The Columbus Titan Junior High Golf Team placed second in the Galena Invitational Golf Tournament, Thursday, at Schifferdecker Golf Course in Joplin, Mo. The team totaled 246 strokes behind Caney Valley with a 188 team total.Pittsburg was fourth in team standings with a four-member total of 272.

Baxter Springs High School Dual Sport Athlete, Cole Parrish, has had a successful week on the links and on the track. Monday the sophomore led the Lion Golf Team to a first place team finish on his home course in Baxter Springs Invitational as the individual medalist.

CUHS Golfers have tough day at Baxter

The Columbus Titan Golfers had a rough day on the golf course, Monday, in Baxter Springs. Junior, Easton Long had the best day with a round of 90 on the par 72, 16 hole course to place out of the top ten in 15th place.Senior, Hunter Ruddick, dropped to 18th place just one stroke back with a 91.

Titans sweep Bulldogs in CNC League double header

The Columbus Titans improved their season record to 8-7 with a double header sweep over CNC League foe, Galena, Monday at Bomber Field in the Columbus Community Field Ball Park.Junior Starting Pitcher, Ben Major, seven strike outs in the first three innings of game one while allowing just one hit.

JV Golf at Chanute

The Titan Junior Varsity Golf Team competed at Chanute, Monday, in a nine-hole tournament.Sophomore, Alex Welch, had the lowest scorecard of 58 for the Titans.Buel Pool and Scott Brooks, sophomores, followed with rounds of 62 and 76 respectively.

Gaither’s mark, replaces 58-year old record

Titan Freshman, Jace Gaither, set a new Columbus Unified High School record in the Shot Put event at the 60th Annual Lester Garber Relays in Riverton, Tuesday. Gaither placed second in the event with a personal best record (PR) toss off 51’9” to set his newest record.

Titan Freshman, Jace Gaither, surpassed his second long-standing, track record of the young season by setting a new mark in the Shot Put at Riverton’s 60th Annual Lester Garber Relays. The previous record was nearly as old as the event itself, set in 1968 by Pat Flanagan at 49 feet, eight inches. Kaitlyn Simpson, Sophomore, Seminole State College, Seminole, Okla. was named the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division I Player of the Week earlier this month.The Columbus Unified High School Graduate was recognized April 8 by the NJCAA.
