Smith wins 12U Battle of the Belt

Kash Smith, 12 yearold heavyweight for the Columbus Wrestling Club won the Battle of the Belt, February 4, in Mulvane at the Kansas Star Casino. The win is the second belt collected by the young wrestler who captured the title in 2019.
The Lady Titan sixth grade Columbus Recreation Basketball Team was introduced during the Columbus varsity girls game with St. Paul. The team is coached by Jade Fouts. Columbus has two weeks left in their season.

Raiders cage Lions in CNC bout

Down 6-0 on Homecoming night against the Frontenac Raiders, with over three minutes elapsed in the opening quarter, the Lions eventually pried the lid off the rim, but the Raiders went on to win, 6133, in Baxter Springs.

Saporito named KWCA Wrestler of the Year

Lady Titan Senior, Addison Saporito, was named the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association’s Wrestler of the Year as she renewed her Kansas Class 4-3-2-1A Regional Champion Title, Saturday, in the 2023 Kansas State High School Activities Association Regional A Tournament in Coffeyville.

Columbus Unified High School Head Wresting Coach was chosen Coffeyville 4-1A Regional Coach of the Year by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association. Bowman has led the Lady Titans to multiple tournament titles and the Class 4-3-2-1A Coffeyville Regional Runner-up.

Lady Titans third with win over Girard

The Columbus Lady Titans moved to third in the state standings with their win over Girard, Tuesday night, 54-36, in Columbus. Columbus suffered a 30-point loss to the Lady Trojans, January 6 in Girard, 27-57. They overcame a limited squad with the injury of junior, Graci Major.

The Columbus Titans dominated in their non-conference trip to Coffeyville, Monday night. Playing on a non-traditional night to begin their February schedule, they held their former SEK League rival to four quarters of single digit scoring in the 47-28 win.

Columbus deflates Coffeyville in non-conference contest

The Columbus Lady Titans opened with a commanding 23-point first quarter to deflate their hosts, the Coffeyville Lady Golden Tornados, 58-35, Monday night in a non-conference road game. Opening the game with a 20-2 lead, the Lady Titans took advantage of turnovers and sloppy passes.
